The standardised unemployment rate in November was 10.7 per cent, down from the revised figure of 10.9 per cent in October, new figures from the Central Statistics Office have shown.

On a seasonally adjusted basis, the Live Register recorded a monthly decrease of 4,100 in November, reducing the total to 367,100.

In unadjusted terms, there were 352,647 people signing on the Live Register in November.

November showed a monthly decrease of 2,500 males in November, while females on the Register decreased by 1,600 over the same period.

Overall, the number of male claimants dropped by more than 28,000 in the year so far to 214,726, while the number of female claimants fell by 10,048 to 137,921.
